The Converse Weapon was created in 1986 by two Hall of Famers, Magic Johnson and Larry Bird, presented during the All-Star Game.
This was a crucial step for Converse, as both Magic and Bird never had a signature shoe. They've been rivals since they went head to head in the NCAA Championships in '79, so having their own “show” was a big deal for both of them.
Professional basketball player Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Oklahoma City Thunder/NBA) about the Converse Weapon: “I remember my first pair of weapons and how excited I was when people looked at my feet.”
“I remember 1988 most vividly when at a party I saw two girls in matching outfits with the yellow-purple weapons on their feet and bamboo earrings dancing to the new single “Top Billin” by Audio Two.
The basketball legend Converse Weapon has now received an update that makes him ready for the road. Durability and comfort in one for an easy-to-match look that goes with any of your outfits.
The Converse Weapon is now available at Asphaltgold available.
By the way, the Converse Fastbreak Pro is also due to be released this month, here are some pictures of the 3 color combinations:
