When adidas and Yohji Yamamoto first took to the runway for the Y-3 collection at Paris Fashion Week in October 2002, the brand with the three stripes and the avant-garde Japanese designer changed the world of fashion and athletic wear forever.
More than ten years later, in 2013, Y-3 unveiled one of its most popular sneakers to date—the Y-3 QASA HIGH.

The unusual silhouette immediately had a major impact on culture and is still worn today by many of the world’s most forward-thinking fashionistas. Now, as adidas and Yohji Yamamoto mark the 20th anniversary of their collaboration, the iconic sneaker is making a comeback.

Y-3 looks back on key moments, designs, materials, and silhouettes from the brand’s history and once again puts the Y-3 QASA HIGH in the spotlight. The bold silhouette is instantly recognizable by its prominent EVA outsole, which draws inspiration from adidas’ Tubular running technology from the 1990s.

It features a sock-like upper made of neoprene with stretch mesh, elastic straps, a leather toe cap, and a suede heel lining. This distinctly avant-garde take on a high-top sneaker is complemented by a Poron Performance insole for cushioning.

The Y-3 QASA HIGH is a true icon that will continue to influence the sneaker landscape for years to come. This season, it’s being re-released in its iconic black-and-white colorway.
The Y-3 QASA HIGH returns on May 25 and will be available at select retailers. An update will follow.
