This season, adidas and Yohji Yamamoto are continuing their collaboration with the latest chapter of Y-3's fall/winter collection. Y-3 presents a selection of hybrid pieces that explore the concept of “subverted function.”
‍
‍
In addition, garments, shoes and accessories are reinterpreted using the Japanese designer's avant-garde blink angle.
‍
‍
Based on the adidas Heritage, Chapter 4 offers a variety of dynamic and winter-ready designs.
‍
‍
Clothing highlights include puffer shirts, parkas and vests with metal zippers and an adjustable snap closure that allows the wearer to adjust the garment. There is also a selection of pieces with a distorted “Brushstroke logo”.
‍
‍
In the footwear sector, Y-3 releases two exciting silhouettes: the Y-3 GENDO and the Y-3 KYASU. The Y-3 GENDO reflects Y-3's design philosophy. It is based on the adidas Superstar and differs from it with a hollowed out TPU plate.
‍
‍
The Y-3 KYASU will be available in a high and low version and features a brick-like outsole and embroidered upper. The characteristic Y-3 SUPERSTAR, Y-3 MARATHON TR and Y-3 GAZELLE silhouettes in a monochrome look will also be released.
‍
‍
The collection is rounded off by a range of winter-suitable accessories such as bags, cuffs, gloves, scarves, balaclavas and a vest bag.
‍
‍
Accompanying the launch of the latest Y-3 collection, there is a campaign that continues the story from Chapter 3. The focus is shifting from Berlin's music scene to the everyday life of artists.
‍
‍
The pictures taken by photographer and casting director Valeria show the dynamic contrasts of the city.
‍
‍
To stay true to Y-3's identity, the photos show local faces who have found their way around town. For example, painter and dancer Cecile, sculptor and video artist Henri, music producer Gabriel, tattoo artist and painter Sabi, agricultural student Mareline, art student Yuuki and DJ and music producer Jannis.
