A few days ago, adidas and Beyoncé’s IVY PARK announced their latest collaborative collection, titled IVYTOPIA—a journey to discover one’s own nirvana.
As with previous adidas x IVY PARK collections, this one also features a variety of looks with inclusive and gender-neutral sizing across casual and athletic wear, shoes, and accessories.
The designs explore the era of community we’re experiencing after a long period of isolation. IVYTOPIA aims to offer the possibility of a dreamlike journey and inspire hope for new experiences.
The Campaign
The film campaign focuses on the idea of being cut off from the outside world during isolation. At its core, it’s about healing and sharing dreams of escaping to IVYTOPIA. This is embodied through the transformative experiences of the cast.
As they step out of isolation into nature, they experience this as something entirely new and see new possibilities. The campaign is supported by understated product design and distinctive styling.
IVY PARK uses this futuristic yet surreal narrative to reinforce the idea that, through optimism and imagination, we can create our own IVYTOPIA. The cast includes supermodels Irina Shayk and Joan Smalls, as well as Harvey Newton-Haydon, Adut Akech, and Alva Claire.
The Collection
Natural and supernatural inspirations merge in a collection featuring eye-catching swimwear and modern silhouettes.
Colors include Quartz (off-white), Pyrite (silver), Lapis Lazuli (shock cyan), Falcon’s Eye (khaki), and Jasper (sunny yellow).
These are complemented by a crystal print and a floral print. IVY PARK combines natural and organic elements with futuristic details, creating a design language all its own.
Fabrics used include printed power mesh, metallic spandex, stretch twill, and French terry.
The bold crystal prints convey a sense of serenity, while a vibrant color palette underscores IVY PARK’s liveliness. Abstract and flattering silhouettes enhance the impact of the fabrics used.
The collection also offers a wide selection of everyday clothing, swimwear, and activewear for children of all ages.
Accessories in the IVYTOPIA collection include a wide-brimmed hat, which will be available in both lapis and crystal prints. It is a reinterpretation of a sun hat, crafted from swimwear fabric and featuring a detachable Cuban link chain.
Also included are the now-classic reversible IVP bucket hat and a multifunctional bag with removable exterior pockets. Also included is a 3-pack of socks that reflects the collection’s color palette: Quartz (off-white), Lapis (shock cyan), and Pyrite (silver).
Among the IVYTOPIA shoe models is the classic Stan Smith, which has been reimagined with a slightly futuristic look and stands out for its contrasting details.
In addition, there’s a new version of the Savage sneaker featuring several color accents.
There will also be an updated version of the mule, featuring a lightweight mesh fabric that provides a striking contrast and pairs perfectly with any outfit.
Rounding out the collection is the Ultra Boost with a tech-inspired upper.
IVYTOPIA is about coming together to overcome a difficult time and rediscover optimism. The collection’s colorful and vibrant looks help make that happen.
