Following the previously released SL 72—their first collaborative release—adidas is now continuing its partnership with the Bob Marley Foundation with a standalone apparel collection.
The collection draws inspiration from outfits and iconic imagery from Bob Marley’s life, music, and cultural DNA.
The central unifying motif is the slogan “Football is Freedom,” developed in collaboration with the Bob Marley Foundation, complemented by a custom-designed calligraphy featuring the lettering “Bob.”
The adidas x Bob Marley Collection is an eight-piece off-pitch apparel collection for players and fans.
The collection was created in close collaboration with the Bob Marley Foundation, which provided archival material and historical garments from Bob Marley’s personal collection. Among these are the purple Firebird track pants that Marley wore during his European tours, which have been reinterpreted here.
Design motifs from Bob Marley’s life and musical legacy are featured throughout the collection. Particularly striking is a recurring wave pattern that spans multiple pieces, connecting the rhythm of his music with the spirit of Jamaica.
The motto “Football is Freedom” is integrated into key pieces such as the yellow jersey and the full-zip jacket, reflecting Marley’s close connection to soccer and his belief in the unifying power of sports.
The Trefoil and the “Bob” signature in calligraphy serve as unifying accents across all pieces.
Highlights of the Collection
The Football Freedom Jersey comes in the yellow of the Jamaican flag. The design is based on a flowing wave motif, combined with the “MARLEY” lettering and the “Football is Freedom” graphic in yellow and emerald green.
The Full-Zip Track Jacket and Track Pants combine classic sportswear with a contemporary fashion aesthetic. The jacket features the “Football Freedom” graphic on the back and is available in emerald green, paired with purple track pants.
The collection is rounded out by a dress, a T-shirt, shorts, and accessories. These include green-yellow-red striped apparel pieces, red shorts with a wave pattern, two styles of crew socks, and a bowler bag in brown and white.
The collection pays tribute to one of the most influential icons in music history while also highlighting the work of the Bob Marley Foundation, which supports underprivileged communities in Jamaica.
Additional footwear models will also be released in the coming days: SL 72 RS, Handball Spezial, Gazelle Indoor, and EVO SL.
The adidas x Bob Marley Collection launches on February 6 and will be available at the following retailers: 43einhalb, AFEW, Asphaltgold, BSTN, HHV, Orange Jungle, and SupremeStars.
