For the Fall/Winter 2023 collection, developed by adidas archivist and Spezial founder Gary Aspden, the brand is focusing on refining familiar styles.

The shoe collection consists of seven silhouettes. The Moscrop 2 SPZL is a reimagined version of the 2022 Moscrop SPZL.
It comes in a light gray colorway with a modified upper that evokes the Argentine adidas Infinity.

Another Special classic making a comeback is the winter-ready Hiaven SPZL in a monochromatic black colorway featuring an Adi-Tex membrane.
The Hiaven SPZL is inspired by a 1970s training shoe that was originally manufactured in Eastern Europe and features decorative stitching.

The Samba Deco SPZL is available in two colorways: in black and green as a tribute to a soccer shoe from the 1980s, and in brown and white as a nod to an original colorway from the 1970s.

The Inverness SPZL is an evolution of the Carnforth SPZL and combines outdoor and casual styles. It comes in a dark brown colorway and pairs well with the Haslingden jacket, which is also part of the collection.

In addition to the outdoor silhouette, there’s the Englewood SPZL: a low-top court shoe featuring 1980s Campus-inspired tooling that reimagines the Galaxy II high-top from the late ’80s.

The Lawkholme SPZL deconstructs the aesthetic of ’80s running shoes—much like the classic adidas Zaza—through subtle branding and a neutral color palette.

The collection includes not only shoes but also apparel and accessories, with a focus on the use of recycled materials.
The collection is led by the Haslingden jacket

and the Moorfield Anorak.

Both jackets can be worn with the Topfield liner and feature Mod Trefoil branding on the back.

The Haslingden gets a dark brown color update, while the Moorfield anorak features contrasting color blocks in Orbit Green and a durable, water-repellent finish.

In typical Spezial style, the collection also offers a special tracksuit—the Sudell TT—and

TP—featuring an expanded version of the classic Mod Trefoil logo, which is reflected in the mountain logo.

A selection of T-shirts is also available,

polos,

crewnecks, and

hoodies that can be mixed and matched.

The selection of seasonal accessories is rounded out by a beanie with a box logo and

the “Chilcott Hat”—a fleece-lined cap with foldable flaps.

The adidas Spezial Fall/Winter 2023 collection was unveiled with a campaign film that follows soccer player Roy Keane on a walk with his dog “Jet” by the lake.

The film is a personal portrait of one of soccer’s most famous figures, showcasing not only the expert and player but also the person behind the scenes.
Accompanying the film is a series of photos taken by longtime adidas Spezial collaborator Kevin Cummins, which showcase the collection against the backdrop of modern architecture and the Lake District’s stunning natural landscape.
The latest adidas SPEZIAL collection will be available in limited quantities starting November 16 at 43einhalb, AFEW-Store, Allike, Asphaltgold, HHV, and SUPPA.
