As part of a new partnership, the two iconic German brands adidas Originals and RIMOWA—both considered pioneers in their respective industries—are unveiling their first capsule collection.
The collection celebrates the spirit of mobility and offers explorers around the world the ideal gear to navigate today’s cities and escape them.
The collection is manufactured exclusively in Germany and features two modern designs: RIMOWA’s first aluminum backpack and the ADIDAS NMD_S1 sneaker.
The collection’s design is functional, with a color palette consisting of khaki and a shimmering titanium shade. The outdoor-inspired pieces are complemented by orange accents.
Inspired by the need to seek fulfillment in new places, the collection was created for urban explorers seeking a connection to nature. The RIMOWA x ADIDAS NMD_BACKPACK features new technical solutions that make it suitable for outdoor activities and overnight trips.
It is crafted from RIMOWA’s signature ribbed aluminum and features a range of thoughtful details—from padded shoulder straps with carabiner hooks and thumb loops to straps for securing ropes and a carrying handle.
The backpack’s ribbed surface features foam grooves inspired by adidas Boost foam, which enhance comfort. An elastic strap runs down the center of the backpack to secure it to the suitcase’s telescoping handles.
To pack the backpack flat, it opens via a removable insert, which contains two deep zippered pockets and a 16-inch laptop compartment featuring the logos of both brands.
The ADIDAS NMD_S1 is a modern lifestyle sneaker whose mantra is movement. The RIMOWA x ADIDAS NMD_S1 sneaker features the signature Primeknit upper in a titanium-inspired colorway and the flexible adidas Boost midsole in a light, almost transparent base color.
The shoe’s midsole features the coordinates of each brand’s respective headquarters in Germany, as well as a “Made in Germany” imprint. The NMD laces in the same shade of orange complement the design.
