Thirty years after KoRn was founded and 27 years after the band released the song “A.D.I.D.A.S.,” KoRn and the sports brand have teamed up to launch a collaborative collection.
The song title “A.D.I.D.A.S.” is a backronym for “All Day I Dream About Sex” and indirectly referred to the adidas brand—actually a running gag at the sports store where singer Jonathan Davis worked in Korn’s early days.
The track is from their second studio album, “Life Is Peachy,” released in 1996. We’ve linked the music video below.
Korn is a nu-metal band from Bakersfield, California, formed in 1993. They’re known as one of the pioneering bands of the nu-metal genre and played a major role in its popularity in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
The original lineup consisted of Jonathan Davis on vocals, guitarists James “Munky” Shaffer and Brian “Head” Welch, bassist Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu, and drummer David Silveria.
Although there have been some changes in the band’s lineup over the years, Munky, Fieldy, Head, and Jonathan have always remained the cornerstones of the band.
Korn’s musical style combines aggressive sounds from the heavy metal genre with elements of hip-hop and industrial. Their lyrics, often dark and introspective, address themes such as childhood trauma, anxiety, and isolation.
Their self-titled debut album, *Korn*, released in 1994, quickly earned the band recognition in the rock world.
However, it was their third album, “Follow the Leader,” released in 1998, that turned them into superstars with hits like “Freak on a Leash” and “Got the Life.”
Thanks to their unique style and powerful performances, Korn has not only earned multiple platinum albums and awards but has also influenced an entire generation of musicians.
