adidas Originals and Craig Green present the CG Squash Polta AKH, a new model that pays homage to adidas’s design heritage. Specifically, it draws inspiration from the 1988 “Made in Taiwan” squash models.

These performance shoes were designed for quick movements and changes of direction. Green has reimagined the shoe for the 21st century, using a transparent mesh upper that reveals and highlights the shoe’s individual layers.

The internal construction of the CG Squash Polta AKH is revealed through a transparent upper and a cut-out outsole that exposes the foam midsole.

This exposes colors that would normally remain hidden, leaving them in their raw form. It’s a new interpretation of the “Ghost Layers,” a hallmark of Green’s work with adidas Originals.

The transparent upper is printed with the iconic adidas 3-Stripes, which create varying degrees of transparency where they intersect with the inner construction.

Also visible is the inner canvas, which is printed with the serial number of the original 1988 shoe design: “F.6314b Squash.” The suede trim on the outsole and the perforated tongue pay homage to the original shoe.

Green has designed new laces for the model, consisting of three thin laces connected at the toe. Craig Green and adidas branding appears below the heel collar and on the tongue, along with the classic adidas Trefoil on the side of the outsole.

The CG Squash Polta AKH will be released on July 27 in the colorway Cream White/Sesame/Bold Green at select retailers. Details to follow.
