In 2022, Brain Dead launched its own wrestling series: Brain Slam Wrestling. Since then, the Los Angeles-based brand has been dedicated to wrestling culture—always with the goal of both honoring and evolving it.
Now, Brain Dead and adidas Originals have teamed up to celebrate the powerful aesthetics and visual language of wrestling with the Japan Flames Collection.

The collection joins the list of adidas Originals classics that Brain Dead has already reinterpreted—including the Stan Smith, the Forest Hills, and even the exclusive reissue of a little-known bowling shoe from the 1970s.
This time, the spotlight is on three special versions of the iconic Japan silhouette.

The Japan Lo, which has garnered increasing attention in recent years for its sleek look, receives Brain Dead’s distinctive update—inspired by Japan’s enduring influence on global wrestling culture.

The Brain Dead Japan Lo combines a leather upper with two-tone suede flame overlays, contrasting leather stripes, plush laces, and co-branding on the insole. It comes in two colorways: brown with yellow details and green accents, and black with blue details and off-white accents.

The Brain Dead Japan Hi, on the other hand, features a high-top design reminiscent of wrestling boots and incorporates the same flame design. It comes in one colorway: black with off-white details and pine green accents.

The adidas Originals x Brain Dead Japan Flames collection launches on August 28 and will be available at the following retailers: 43einhalb, AFEW-Store, Asphaltgold, HHV, and SUPPA.
