adidas introduces the new adizero Prime X 2 Strung—the latest addition to the record-breaking adizero series.
The model was developed without the restrictions of the regulations, which mandate a maximum height of 40 mm and a carbon plate. This racing model has a height of 50 mm and a dual carbon plate system. The redesigned midsole consists of three layers of Lightstrike Pro foam—more than in any other adidas running shoe.
Although the adizero Prime X 2 Strung is not approved for elite competition, it can be worn by ambitious runners looking to beat their personal bests. The shoe embodies adidas’ commitment to revolutionizing running in 2023. The adizero Prime X 2 Strung is the first in a whole series of innovative running models set to hit the market this season.

The Strung’s upper is meticulously crafted, with layered reinforcement in the midfoot and heel areas—where it’s needed most—and targeted flexibility in key stretch zones in the forefoot. The integrated tongue is designed to further enhance the shoe’s support.
Three layers of Lightstrike Pro—more than in any other adidas running shoe—provide a stack height of 50 mm. The all-new midsole, sandwiched between two continuous layers of foam, helps reduce weight and provides more cushioning in the forefoot and midfoot areas.
The new Lightstrike Pro core is framed by two carbon plates. Together, they form a platform for greater responsiveness throughout your run.
The outsole is made of a Continental compound for excellent grip on challenging surfaces.
