A uniquely disruptive experiment leads to an unexpected result: Oakley Moonveil impresses with its design, which represents a true art form, by and for a world that we can't yet imagine.

This revolutionary and innovative limited edition collection pushes the limits of what is possible. With his search for something new, Moonveil is deliberately setting new standards and becoming a whole new type of headgear. The revolutionary technology invites you to get off the beaten track and explore new worlds.

Moonveil is an animated concept from the world of Future Genesis, which was turned into reality and was first seen as a holographic projection in the first chapter of Future Genesis. As a symbol of hope for a better future and life beyond the bunker, Moonveil stands for a world without borders and restrictions.

“With Moonveil, we are bridging the world inside and outside Future Genesis through a vision of empowerment and a revolutionary leap in design,” says Brian Takumi, VP, Brand Soul and Creative at Oakley. “This sentiment is reflected in every aspect of the Moonveil, from its conceptual roots in Oakley’s animated world of Future Genesis Chapter One, to manifest itself into the real world.”

Moonveil is a category in itself and breaks the conventional limits of innovation and design by seamlessly combining eyewear and headwear.

State-of-the-art Physiomorphic Geometry enabled Oakley designers to innovate without shape and design limitations, advancing the human experience.

The result is a futuristic cape that combines functional appearance with multifunctional lenses, symbolizing resilience and adaptability.

Instead of a usual frame with underwire, Moonveil features a deep black, knitted cloak with subtly embroidered, reflective strips of thread that attract light and attention. Moonveil comprises interchangeable, swiveling Prizm double lenses that intuitively adapt to changing lighting conditions.

Prizm 24K lenses provide optimal eye protection and reduce light transmission in bright environments, while Prizm Low Light lenses increase light transmission in the dark. The cloak can be closed with a zipper at the front, so you can either show your face or remain completely anonymous.

The extremely limited edition comprises only 100 serially produced pieces. Each Moonveil is accompanied by original concept sketches by Oakley product designers and the Future Genesis Achkan comic by Dark Horse, which features Moonveil on the black back.

Break out of the ordinary and discover the future with Moonveil. The limited edition designer piece will be available on Oakley.com from September 2024.
