Trevor Noah is a South African comedian, writer, producer, political commentator, actor, and television host. He hosts *The Daily Show*, an American late-night talk show and satirical news program on Comedy Central.
A few days ago, his third Netflix special, “I Wish You Would,” was released.
On stage at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, he’s wearing the Nike x Sean Wotherspoon Air Max 1/97.
Noah has won several awards, including a Primetime Emmy Award out of eleven nominations. In 2017 and 2018, he was named one of “The 35 Most Powerful People in New York Media” by The Hollywood Reporter. In 2018, Time Magazine named him one of the 100 most influential people in the world.
Born in Johannesburg, Noah began his career in South Africa in 2002. He held several hosting roles at the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) and was the runner-up in the fourth season of South Africa’s Strictly Come Dancing in 2008.
From 2010 to 2011, he hosted the late-night talk show *Tonight with Trevor Noah*, which he developed and which aired on M-Net and DStv.
In 2014, Noah became Senior International Correspondent for *The Daily Show*, and in 2015, he succeeded longtime host Jon Stewart.
His autobiographical comedy book *Born a Crime* was published in 2016. He hosted the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards in 2021 and the 64th Annual Grammy Awards in 2022, as well as the 2022 White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
On September 29, 2022, Noah asked for a few extra minutes on the show and regretfully announced that he would be leaving *The Daily Show* at an unspecified time, after having hosted the show for seven years.
After returning to stand-up comedy, he felt a longing to travel to different countries for performances, learn new languages, and “be everywhere and do everything.” The following month, it was confirmed that Noah’s final show would air on Thursday, December 8, 2022.
In January, he’ll kick off the “Off the Record” stand-up comedy tour across America.
