386 marathons in just under a year: Briton Russ Cook completed his “Project Africa” last Sunday — crossing Africa from south to north, on foot. In total, the 27-year-old ran through 16 different countries in 352 days, covering more than 16.000 kilometers.

That's the length of 386 marathons! In doing so, he overcame tropical forests, arid deserts and steep mountains, as well as several unforeseeable events such as equipment theft, food poisoning and visa problems.
