The TGWO x ASICS GEL-LYTE V ‚Koyo‘ is inspired by the colour of the Japanese autumn leaves. Koyo is to the Japanese autumn what cherry blossoms (Sakura) are to spring. The viewing of the leaves (Momijigari) is a popular activity in Japan for centuries.
The Koyo season starts in mid September on the northern island of Hakkaido and then moves to the south. Famous Koyo spots are Tohoku, Tokyo and Kyoto. Some trees around Tokyo and Kyoto remain colourful till early December.
The Koyo design uses three shades of dark red standing for the many red tones of the autumn leaves. Another colour is bright yellow, which originates from the yellow edges seen on fallen leaves.
The red upper is made of premium nubuck leather. The heel features a structured leather panel with the haptic quality of a leave.
The sockliner has a soft all-over-leave-print.
It comes with 3 pairs of extra laces.

Die Inspiration für den TGWO x ASICS GEL-LYTE V ‚Koyo‘ stammt von den herbstlichen Farben der Blätter in Japan. Koyo ist der Japanische Herbst, was die Sakura (Kirschblüte) im Frühling ist.
Das Betrachten der Blätter (Momijigari) ist seit Jahrzehnten eine beliebte Freizeitaktivität für Japaner. Die Koyo Saison fängt Mitte September auf der nördlichen Insel Hokkaido an und zieht dann weiter in den Süden.
Beliebte Koyo Gegenden sind Tohoku, Tokyo und Kyoto. Einige Bäume in Tokyo und Kyoto bleiben bis Anfang Dezember farbenfroh.
Das Koyo Design besteht aus 3 unterschiedlichen Rottönen welche für die vielen Rotschattierungen der Herbstblätter stehen. Eine weitere Farbe ist gelb, welches man am Rand von herabgefallenen Blättern sieht.
Das Obermaterial ist aus hochwertigen Nubuk-Leder gefertigt. Die Ferse besteht aus einem wie ein Blatt strukturierten Leder. Die Innensocke zeigt einen Blätter-All-Over Print. Zu dem Schuh kommen 3 extra Schnürsenkel.
Der TGWO x ASICS GEL-LYTE V ‚Koyo‘ wird am 18. Oktober in einer limitierten Auflage mit Special Packaging nur bei TGWO in Köln verkauft. Eine Woche später folgt der weltweite Release in ausgewählten Sneakerstores.
